Art committee Slingeland Hospital

The art committee manages the art collection of the Slingeland Hospital, acquires new works and advises on art policy. They also coordinate the changing exhibitions within the hospital. Through visual arts, the committee contributes to the beautification of the interior and the immediate surroundings of the Slingeland Hospital. The aim is that the works of art exhibited and to be purchased match the quality level and function of the hospital. Collection The hospital's permanent art collection includes more than 400 works of art and is an important part of creating a pleasant living environment for patients, visitors and staff. Under the responsibility of the art committee, art in the hospital is selected and displayed in public spaces, such as corridors and waiting areas. Over the years, an interesting collection has been built up in the field of graphics and photography. You can encounter many well-known names of artists in the public spaces of the hospital, such as Corneille, Lucebert, Armando, Raveel, Jan Sierhuis, Jef Diederen, Jan Cremer, R.Tolman, A. Freymut, R.Birza, Krin Rinsema. The human-sized statue in Henk Visch's courtyard also deserves your attention. The changing exhibitions in the outpatient clinic, the showcases in the central hall, the staff corridor and in the summer months in the courtyard, ensure a variety of art styles.
